How to award XP

How to award XP for completing a Challenge

Overview

As part of the Whitelist, we are holding a Daily Challenge on the Announcement Channel. These Challenges vary, but are usually centered around the following:

  • Learn more about Metablox

  • Share Metablox with your friends and network

Challenge

Right now there is one person solely responsible for awarding XP. This is not scalable, especially as we're growing.

When a Neighbor completes a Challenge and doesn't get their XP for 12+ hours, it can be demoralizing and discouraging.

Therefore, in order to respect our Neighbors and make sure we award them for their hard work, we want to increase the speed in which we award XP.

Solution

The solution is to share the responsibility of awarding XP between Jun Loayza and the Super Mods.

Why should I spend time to award XP?

Aside from helping the growth and culture of the overall Neighborhood, you are seen as an awesome person in the eyes of the Neighbor.

How to award XP

  1. Go to the #xp-giveaway Channel to see who has completed a Challenge.

  2. Check to see if the Neighbor has already received their XP.

  3. If they have a on their message, it means that a Super Mod has already awarded them XP.

  4. If they do not have a , then use the /give-xp command to award XP.

  5. After awarding XP, leave a on the Neighbor's message to let all other Super Mods know that XP has already been awarded.

Important details

  1. If you make a mistake, you can always remove XP by using the command /remove-xp

  2. If the Neighbor did not correctly complete the Challenge, then "@" mention them and let them know what they did wrong. Then add a to their post.
